    in additon to losing the $300 purchase, lost $80 worth of food ..thermostat failed in a couple weeks, no help from mfg what a waste

    I chose this mini freezer because it had a lot of interior cubic footage for its size and the pull out wire mesh bins to help with easy access and storage. I was worried with the manual defrost that I would have a lot of frost build up but the reviews reassured me and so far I have had no issues after a month. The unit is in my apartment so not exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations.

    The seal in the door is very strong. I have to pull a little to get it open. I’d rather have that inconvenience than a door that does not seal well.

    The all white color matches well with my apartment.

    No damage to the freezer after shipping.

    I researched a lot of mini freezers including considering units up to $2K with automatic defrost and am happy with this purchase. Good value.

    just arrived so this review is on the shipping, packaging and overall look of the unit. I’m posting this now because I REALLY went back and forth about spending the extra $$ to get THIS model instead of the #1 best seller on amazon that had some great reviews and was priced around $178.00 with free shipping. BUT after reading reviews about how many times the unit was damaged INSIDE a perfectly undamaged box, I decided to go with this one, although a few ppl mentioned this one too was damaged IN the box.
    well mine came in perfect shape. looks REALLY nice and I am very happy so far. because it was on its side in the truck we are waitng to turn it on until later this evening, as we have heard that’s better for the Freon, etc. that’s all I have for now.
    2 days later update: turned on and put foods in, set at 4 and ready to go. the unit is running perfectly and is mostly quiet. I’m very pleased with my purchase so far.

    Love this little freezer. Can’t even hear it running, it’s so quiet! (Thermometer in the picture with food in it is incorrect – had just filled freezer and and thermometer had been sitting out. It’s at zero degrees now.) Love that it has shelves. Came with a hole poked in the cardboard and of course the dent was in the front door. Other than that it was packaged well. We have a small house so it fit just fine in the laundry room.

    Got this to replace a set of Sub Zero freezer drawers that lasted 24 years and just too expensive to replace, so I was used to a quality product. So far, so good. I keep it my office and it’s quiet (you can sleep right next to it – decibels about 48 from 3 ft. away when the compressor is running but that reads much louder than it sounds and I’m noise sensitive). I like the baskets because I have a lot of bagged things, but they are flimsy. 3 CF is NOT that much room, but I use it for seasonal overflow, for example freezing the tomatoes I’ll use in the coming year and extra quarts of soup and broth. It arrived in perfect condition (one reason I picked this over 2 other options which seemed to come damaged a lot). Set up was easy. One BAD thing: the temperature control is not only in the back, but on the bottom. I need it a notch higher, but I don’t want to risk scratching my stone floor to pull it out.

    UPDATE 15 MONTHS LATER. Very happy with it. So quiet you can sleep next to it. It was 15 months before I needed to defrost (see pictures), with about 2 openings a week. Easy to defrost. Wish it had a tray to collect the water. I put a towel in the bottom and rolled up one in front of it to catch it all.

    Just got this 4 days ago. So far working great. FedEx delivered it in good shape with no dents. Front door access closes tight. As others have mentioned, the food trays are a little wobbly when you pull them out. But this is a minor inconvenience.
    Food stays frozen with temperature control on 4. The control goes from 1 (coldest) to 6 (least cold).
    So far very happy.
